The Inner-City Sports and Recreation Center in Baton Rouge strives to capture the attention of youth through our superior sports programming opportunities. The opportunity to participate and succeed in sports then becomes our vehicle to inspire greatness on a much larger level. SRC will also provide vocational programs such as drone training and welding. We will accomplish our mission by providing youth access to a safe environment to play, grow, and learn.
Playing sports can have a number of positive life-long effects, namely the promotion of health and fitness. It's also a way to develop important social skills. Sports teach children about discipline, dedication and how to get along with others — all skills to help in future schooling and beyond.
Help youth and their families to develop skills such as basic cooking & nutrition, career development, household management, relationship management, financial literacy, and overcoming barriers.
Teach how healthy behavior patterns, good nutrition, and activity can improve physical and mental health. Programs and courses will be provided for all ages and levels of fitness.
Charity events, community gardens, and partnering with local businesses to increase the power to bring positive, measurable change to the communities in which we live. Be an active part of our neighborhoods and city to contribute and raise each other up.
Offer programs in drone piloting, welding, and the culinary industry. Vocational programs allow students to develop technical, academic, and professional skills that can be used for either a professional pathway or a continuing education alternative.
Provide access to credible health information, community resources and individualized support. Programs are developed to reflect and be responsive to the specific needs, cultures, and interests of the communities and populations served.
